Expand Your View

Take Control of Your Network

Passive tools only give you partial information about your network health.  Our tools allow you to actively understand any issues within your infrastructure.

Consistently Capture Relevant Data

Most network management tools capture only partial amounts of relevant data.  Our tools help you to collect as much data as is available on the network to then allow you to determine what is relevant or not.

Vision

Locate critical areas of the network infrastructure that produce chronic and intermittent problems.

Control

Isolate faults and capture critical events that are normally overlooked and ignored.

Simplicity

A clean and efficient design ensures simplified access to critical network information.

We Want Your Input for Our Next Management Pack

This is your chance to tell us what our next Management Pack will be

We are giving everyone an opportunity to help us determine which Management Pack we start next.

We currently have the following Management Packs in development:

  • Cisco ASA Security Appliance
  • Cisco Catalyst 3560 Series Switch
  • Cisco Catalyst 3750 Series Switch
  • Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Switch
  • Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switch

Once these are completed, we will start work on the top 3 requested Management Packs.  We will publish the list and target completion dates after all requests are in.  Just add a name in the text box below and click the Submit button.  You may also send your requests to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. It Is Here! Our first Management Pack ...AND ITS FREE!

We made it!  We are releasing our first Management Pack.  It has been a long road to get here.  We have met our goal of building an SNMP Management Pack to DOES NOT use WMI or external files or an external interface to configure or poll network devices.  We tried to build the Management Pack to be as native as possible, to avoid unnecessary complications in the monitoring.

To kick off our release of our Management Packs we are releasing our Cisco Catalyst 2950 Series Switch Management Pack for a free download.  This MP represents the first Management Pack that we developed.  Since there is not much to a Catalyst 2950 Switch, the MP is relatively basic.  We cannot monitor, for instance, Broadcast Storms, on the Cat 2950 because there simply are no counters for it.  There are, however, some valuable counters and health information that we can gather from the switch.  These are collected and monitored in the MP.

We are also releasing our Cisco Catalyst 2960 Series Switch Management Pack.  This will be made available to all paid subscribers.  When you become a paid subscriber, you get all current and future Management Packs that we will develop.  You can see the "To Do" list to the left of this article.  All of these MP's will be made available to all subscribers as they are developed.

Our release schedule for new Management Packs will be a 2 - 3 week release timeline, depending upon the complexity of the device.  Our next MP release will be the Cisco PIX Firewall and Cisco ASA Security Appliance.

SCOM2007 Trap Enhancer Service + Management Pack is Available!

Today JaxMP announces the release of our first tool targeted to users of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007.  Our SCOM2007 Trap Enhancer is a unique tool that works with or without a System Center infrastructure.

When receiving traps from with System Center Operations Manager, the contents of the trap messages are very cryptic and usually require a manual reference to determine all the values contained with the message.  The SCOM2007 Trap Enhancer provides a way to capture the traps, re-write the contents, and then send that new message to local EventLog and/or a Syslog server.  It "translates" all the SNMP codes into very human readable descriptions.  While all descriptions are customizable, a set of prefabricated files have been assembled based upon the naming conventions and descriptions from within the specific MIB files.

The SCOM2007 Trap Enhancer runs as a Windows service and will process traps immediately as they arrive.  The TIF content can be updated using a simple text editor to manipulate the messages that are generated and then sent to the EventLog.

Premium Subscribers receive a complete set of Cisco Trap Input Files (TIF) as well as many Standard RFC compatible TIFs.  Subscribers enjoy the benefit of receiving all new vendor files and updates to current TIF content.  The SCOM2007 Trap Enhancer can be run without any Trap Input Files.  It just becomes a plain "store and forward" application without TIF content configured.
